Amidst the Darkness

There are times when there is darkness,
Not a word can dispel it..

Why does it come, we ask ourselves..
What deep thought of loss makes it stand out..
Where the Yin is there the Yang is...
Yet why does the mind not see ...
There may be light,but like the storm clouds,
Nothing can penetrate thee till the storm abates..

Who can explain the loss that the shadow covers,
Who can forget the endurance that life throws..
But yet when the darkness comes,
Why does one not fight it all,

The body has antibodies,
The mind has no such shields,
It chooses its path, not fighting when the darkness seems so deep..
Even if the light shone, will the blind see ?
Even if the sound penetrated,Will the deaf hear?
Such is the state of a mind that has given up all hope..

There are times when there is darkness,
Not a word can dispel it..

There are times when what the heart wants,
The world can never give,
Yet each day like a beggar we live,
For that one coin of hope,
For that one coin of gratitude..
For that one coin of light amidst the darkness that engulfed..
So much we beg and plead..
